(bb)

who is seconded to the 24/7 Point of Contact to assist the Director; and

(cc)

to whom a security clearance has been issued by the State Security
Agency in terms of section 2A of the National Strategic Intelligence Act,
1994 (Act No. 39 of 1994), to the satisfaction of the Cabinet member
responsible for State Security; and

(iii)

any person or entity—
(aa)

who or which has particular knowledge and skills in respect of any aspect
dealt with in this Act;

(bb)

who or which is appointed to assist the Director from time to time; and

(cc)

to whom a security clearance has been issued by the State Security
Agency in terms of section 2A of the National Strategic Intelligence Act,
1994 (Act No. 39 of 1994), to the satisfaction of the Cabinet member
responsible for State Security.
(e)

In order to achieve the objects of this Act, the Director

must—
(i)

carry out the administrative duties relating to the functioning of the 24/7 Point of
Contact;

(ii)

exercise control over the persons contemplated in subsection (3)(d);

(iii)

manage and exercise administrative and technical control over the 24/7 Point of
Contact;

(iv)

regulate the procedure and determine the manner in which the provisions of this
Act must be carried out by the 24/7 Point of Contact; and

(v)

co-ordinate the activities of the 24/7 Point of Contact with those of the Cyber
Security Centre, the Government Security Incident Response teams, the Cyber
Crime Response Centre, the Cyber Command, the Cyber Security Hub and the
Private Sector Security Incident Response Teams.
(f)

The Director is, for the purposes of the exercising the

powers, performing the functions and carrying out of the duties conferred upon,
assigned to or imposed upon him or her by the National Commissioner or under this
